Birch Coffee in The New York Post!

The New York Post sat down with the Birch Guys and got the inside scoop of what it took to bring to life Birch Coffee. Paul Schlader and Jeremy Lyman both decided to open up a coffee shop despite the fact that “We were so green,” says Schlader. “I can’t stress enough that we didn’t know what we were doing.” From maxed out credit cards and an unexpected business coach, Paul and Jeremy built Birch into the coffee shop it is today. NYC Summer Events!

There’s still plenty of summer left to enjoy in the city. Make the most of it with some FREE events this week. That’s right, cool free stuff do in NYC? You bet! On Thursday, July 26th, head over to the Klughaus Gallery to see some limited-edition skateboard inspired artwork. Kingbrown’s magazine brings you this exclusive exhibition along with a release of their eighth issue. The event starts at 6pm and showcases illustrators and street artists from all over the world. Check it out. Looking for something to do on Friday the 27th? Head into Brooklyn for some indie folk music in Prospect Park. The Celebrate Brooklyn! concert series brings you The Head and the Heart and Lost in the Trees. The show starts at 6:30pm in the Bandshell. On Sunday the 29th, hop on a free ferry to Governors Island to watch artists demonstrate the creative process on a mobile glassblowing studio. GlassLab is bringing in pure talent from the artists at Corning Museum of Glass specifically for this event.
