Born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, Kristen Haskell is a painter, illustrator and comic. She moved to New York City in 2001, graduating with a BFA from Marymount Manhattan College in 2005. Since then, Haskell has shown in a variety of venues throughout New York City, including solo shows at the Gershwin Hotel, Midoma Gallery and the Hewitt Gallery at Marymount College. Her work ranges from large scale abstractions to smaller watercolor pieces and most recently, her work has taken a new turn in the form of humorous comics. Her work reflects her own interests, including animals, real life situations and illustrating the unknown. She is a member of the Brooklyn Artists’ Gym and a Resident Artist for the non-profit organization, Blissful Bedrooms. Haskell lives and works in Brooklyn.

The opening night party will be Thursday, February 2nd from 7pm-9pm. Haskell’s work will be on display at Birch until February 29th.
